I have a passion for singing and choral music, and I’d love to share it with you. I want to network with a bunch of people and help create a community around choral music where we can lift each other up to better serve ourselves, our choirs, and in doing so help create a better society. Please take a look at my links, and if you think I can help you with your art, whether as a singer, a conductor, or an educator, please reach out via one of the contact forms on my webpage.
Music has been of the utmost importance for me my whole life. I grew up in a musical family, participated in music all through school, and earned a voice degree before falling almost by accident into a High School choir position. It was love at first sound, and I’ve never looked back. My academic journey has taken me from high school teaching through a masters program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a doctorate at the University of Colorado, to faculty positions at several universities, currently serving as Director of Choral Activities at the Ripon College. I place equal value on community singing, and have a strong background in church music and community choirs.
I live in Wisconsin with my wife, Susan, who is a public school music teacher extraordinaire, our son Michael and our three cats. Outside of choral music, I am active as a bassist, and enjoy cooking, reading, cycling, golf, woodworking, and a good board game. I’d love to hear from you, so please shoot me a message and tell me a little about yourself and your musical journey!
